Electrophysiology Henry’s EP Suite

Background

Henry’s EP Suite was developed, from its inception, as full-featured, GUI-based software that operates on the Microsoft® Windows™ platform. The Suite is both extremely efficient and user-friendly. All of the offline utilities can be used with data collected and imported from other software packages.

Clamp control and data acquisition are driver-supported for compatibility with Scientific Solutions’ LabMaster DMA and PCI-based LabMaster PRO boards as well as other ADC/DAC interfaces such as Instratech and Heka systems. The software is configurable for use with a wide range of amplifiers, including Heka systems, the Dagan PC-ONE system and Axon Instruments GeneClamp 500B and AxoClamp 2B.

Terms of Use

Henry’s EP Suite is available free of charge and does not require a licence; however, when publishing data collected or analyses made using the software, please cite:

Other Things you need to Know

*Voltage and current clamp control facilities, easy access for rapid and intuitive protocol editing, inbuilt audio monitor, real-time graphical chart recorder and clamp monitors, real-time steady-state current-voltage monitoring, sketchpad for runtime comparisons, and much more.

*Image and spectrographic acquisition utilities that synchronise with clamp control and data collection (requires the SIDX interface — available from the Bruxton Corporation — installed, and you must have one of the many supported CCD devices fitted).

*N-Pro, a ‘smart filter’ that improves signal resolution against background noise.

*Vicar, an online chart recorder.

*Pandora, an ever-increasing collection of utilities for analysis of single-channel (patch-clamp) data.

Pentium II or better CPU, running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7; Administrator rights to install the package.

The Y-Science ADC/DAC Board Drivers provide the means by which the component applications of Henry’s EP Suite communicate with and control the installed ADC/DAC hardware in your PC. They present an identical interface to the software, irrespective of the particular hardware model in use. These drivers are system components that adhere to the Windows Driver Model (wdm) scheme and are fully compatible the Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 operation. They will not run under Windows 95/98/ME or Windows NT4.

(1)Windows-98/ME platforms are no longer supported.

2) Henry’s EP Suite is built to run in Windows 64-Bit environment, but has been extensively tested only in the 32-bit environment. Therefore we advise that your use it in the 64-bit environment with caution. Please let us know of any problems you encounter, and we shall endeavour to correct them as expediently as possible.

3) If you have Henry II’s EP Suite (software prior to V-3.0) installed, you should uninstall it before installing the latest version. Please also delete any Y-Science device drivers (use the Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager in Windows). Before doing so, make note of the ADC Board/Rig setting. If you have an installation of Henry’s EP Suite later than V-3.0, you can simply use the installation programs provided above to update your software and device drivers. The current release is V-3.5.5.5 (Spring, 2012).
